Thomas Beswick is a documentary filmmaker based in Tokyo, creating films that explore culture, craft, and human stories across Japan.
Originally from Manchester, Thomas has lived in Japan for over 15 years. With a background in directing and editing, his work combines cinematic visuals with an observational approach shaped by story and atmosphere.
From master sake brewers and artisans to musicians, engineers, and behind-the-scenes creative work, he focuses on people and processes that reveal something deeper about contemporary Japan.
He has collaborated with brands, creative agencies, and independent artists across Japan on documentaries, branded films, and behind-the-scenes work.
